With less and less companies offering relocation packages and assistance these days, it is vital that you fully understand the complexity of relocating for work.

So, here is a little help from us. Some points to consider about relocating:
  • Have you discussed the move with friends and family? Are they as keen as you and is the timing right i.e. children moving schools etc?
  • Do you have cash available for deposits on rental properties? - this could be 1.5 times the monthly rent plus the first month's rent up front
  • How long would it take you to move? Is the client willing to wait that long?
  • Have you considered a weekly commute instead, returning home at weekends?
  • Does the area you are moving to have sufficient career prospects for you and any other working members of your family?
