Our client is a leading architectural company based in Camden, North London. They are looking for a 3rd Line Infrastructure Support Engineer to join their IT team.
This is an immediate vacancy with interview slots for Wednesday this week. The current candidate is leaving on the 10th of June and the client would like a hand over period.
The 3rd Line Infrastructure Support Engineer is responsible for installing, operating and maintaining the practice’s network, data and security infrastructure across all sites. The role includes working with the ITC Manager for all infrastructure spec, implementation, maintenance, security and integrity of back-office data, software and hardware (servers, comms, firewalls, and related devices).
Areas of Responsibility:
- Back office and network management
- Documentation of back office systems
- Technical liaison – back office + infrastructure
- Network security and integrity
- Business systems administration
Key Tasks:
- Installation, monitoring and upgrading of servers / comms / security kit / storage and backup infrastructure.
- High-end server hardware / software support, email systems, WAN systems, firewalls, VPN and security.
- Consideration for wider information systems throughout undertaking role
- Proper documentation of back office systems throughout daily operations, maintenance, upgrades and repairs to provide transparent and seamless handover to colleagues or collaborators/external support staff
- High level technical reporting (written and oral) to ITC Manager
- High-level technical liaison point for back-office systems; liaison between external support representatives, collaborators/client technical officers
- Attendance at various external technical information events (agreed by ITC Manager) to keep knowledge current
- Constant monitoring, vigilant maintenance and pre-emptive security measures to protect the entire practice network; back and front office
- Where required, an amount of assistance in configuring telephone system, copiers, printers and other peripherals to assist IT Administrators
- Configuring, monitoring and testing the integrity of the practice Disaster Recovery systems on a six-monthly basis.
- Undertaking miscellaneous ITC tasks as directed by ITC Manager

- Effective technical communication skills to allow a high level of diagnosis of issues to be imparted
- Wide general knowledge of computing security vulnerabilities and best practice pre-/post-remedial actions and record keeping
- Knowledge of cabling systems peripherals and protocols, etc.
The salary for this role is up to £30,000
