Our client is a leading global experiential marketing agency based in an attractive Kingston-upon-Thames location. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Event Production Manager to join their ever expanding team.
The agency provides strategic event marketing thinking and event portfolio planning to their clients, as well as creative event concepts, graphic design, architecture, trade show build, conference organization, registration, production and event management.
Reporting to the Head of Technical Production, the Production Manager plays a key role in maintaining the quality of services provided by the Production team, being ultimately responsible for all production services that are offered to clients.
This role is very much focussed on event production, rather than event logistics.
Job purpose:
- Primary function is to cost, procure and deliver the technical and production elements for a variety of different live events
- Responsible for developing the creative idea, along with a Producer, into a fully costed solution. In particular, must be able to work with vendors to design technical systems and solutions
- Be a direct point of contact for Producers regarding any technical production-related issues
- Manage supplier negotiations ensuring cost-efficiencies for the company and its clients
- Develop critical path timelines, on-site schedules and manage crew timings for each individual project
- Play a role in providing in-depth technical knowledge, together with costings, for pitches and new business opportunities

Skills:
- Proven experience as a Production Manager within the events industry
- Demonstrable experience managing multiple large-scale events simultaneously
- Must be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of all technical disciplines, including sound, lighting, video, set construction and rigging
- IT literate – strong IT skills; AutoCad is preferred, together with MS Office (Excel skills must be particularly strong) and ideally, experience in utilising a time/cost accounting package
- Able to establish strong relationships across the business, with clients and external suppliers, both face-to-face, verbally and in writing
- Project management – must be thoroughly adept at deploying appropriate resources and running multiple timelines in order to meet both internal and external deadlines
- Budget management – demonstrated experience in putting together, managing and reconciling budgets
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 depending on skills (may go higher for ideal candidate) plus benefits
