Our client based in Reading town centre is a major outsourcing partner for the public sector. They are looking for a Lead Web Analyst to deputise for the Business Architecture Stream Lead and coordinate all analysis activity for the programme and line managing the business architecture team.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Working with the senior management team at project board level to share achievements, issues, risks and assumptions from the business architecture team.
- Overseeing and co-ordinating all analysis activity within the programme including responsibility for the production of the required deliverables to deadline.
- Mentoring web/business analysts ensuring that they follow best practice in web analysis and specification and develop their skill sets.
- Understanding regulatory business requirements relating to the web such as legal implications (Data Protection Act, accessibility legislation etc), translating these into functional/non-functional requirements as appropriate.
- Researching new developments in the open source web community and evaluating any potential contribution to the project.
- Creating new process documentation as a basis for designing and building new website features or functions. Ensuring existing process documentation is a true reflection of the current system state.
- Assisting in the production of project business cases.
- Such other duties as may be reasonably considered to be within the grade and remit of the post of deputy.
Essential
- 10 years experience in web-based IT environment working as either a business analyst or other similar role (preferably in pre-sales or professional services).
- Experience of several enterprise scale website implementations in a role leading an analysis team.
- Experience of the entire project lifecycle on several enterprise scale website projects including deployment and operational support.
- Experience managing multiple business stakeholders with conflicting objectives.
- Working in a customer-focused environment where the needs of a variety of service users have to be prioritised and delivered.
- Proven track record in working to challenging timescales with staff at all levels.
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent), technical degree, minimum 2.1.
- Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
- Good practical knowledge of best practice analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of current best practice principles in website functional design.
- Excellent presentation, verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Office tools: Visio, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook.
- BA Tools: requirements management tool e.g. calibre, process definition tool e.g. casewise, UML.
- Technologies: Drupal or other CMS
Desirable
- IT-related qualification in business analysis and/or formal documentation methods.
- VCS e.g. svn.
- Working knowledge of MySQL and PHP.
- LAMP stack experience.
- Exposure to central or local government clients.
- Knowledge of the UK educational system
- Experience working for a top 5 professional services supplier.
- Experience working with an outsourced development team.
