Summary:
Looking for a mid level social web PHP developer with very strong back end and strong front end skills for £28k-£34k placement in hot social media agency (preferred Facebook developer) for immediate start on exciting client projects for Sony Playstation and other cool brands.
What we're looking for:
• Very strong PHP skills
• MySQL
• Model View Controller Framework (Kohana best)
• Digital agency experience
• Platform development experience (web 2.0 - ideally Facebook but other platforms and application development in general is acceptable – example platforms include Google, Yahoo, Twitter, Flickr)
• CMS development experience
My client is a trail-blazing social media marketing company. They create and produce campaigns, pages, utilities and games on social networks for brands, clients and digital agencies - They're writing the book as they go. Come and join them as they educate the market on remixing, warm traffic and viralocity! Based in Soho, they offer a hard-working but fun and relaxed environment where everyone plays an active role. Their current clients include Britvic, PlayStation, PhotoBox, THQ and others, as well as some they're not allowed to tell you about till you're 'in'!
They're looking for a full-time talented Web Developer to join the team in Soho, London.
Skills required:
• Object-oriented PHP 5 skills and experience with a PHP framework like CodeIgniter or Kohana
• Strong knowledge of standards-compliant XHTML and CSS
• Javascript and understanding of AJAX techniques
• Experience using MySQL with some degree of concurrency
• Linux server knowledge
• A hands-on problem-solving approach and positive attitude
Nice-to-Have:
• Experience using the Facebook Platform (API, Connect, FBJS) and/or OpenSocial
• Familiarity with "NoSQL" systems - CouchDB, Cassandra, etc
• Some exposure to Amazon EC2 infrastructure
• Flash/Flex & Actionscript 3 experience
• Experience with version control systems (CVS, subversion, git, etc)
• Other scripting languages - Python, Perl, Ruby
Responsibilities:
• This position is focused on Facebook Platform development and engineering
• Server-side development of Social Media applications
• Client-side XHTML/FBML/CSS/Javascript
It goes without saying that you will have a passion for social-media; the ideal candidate will have notched up a few years of web-industry experience, but of course if you're talented with a portfolio to knock their socks off, then you'd be more than welcome to get in touch.
