Day to day activities will include:
Technical Presales
Support including attending customer meetings and the preparation of client quotes, proposals & tender responses.
Preparation support materials including: product positioning statements, price & feature comparisons, geographical coverage
Product Life Cycle Management
New Product Developments including liaising with wholesale suppliers to agree technical and commercial scope of data centre and network service to be resold. The Product Manager will also be responsible for developing the operational processes and documentation necessary to ensure smooth service delivery including: finalising vendor contracts, updates to BIS SOFs, T&Cs and Product Descriptions. Netsuite data build for products, service implementation & support contact details, sample vendor order forms, managing training requirements for service implementation team, service desk and engineering staff.
The product manager will vendor management (sourcing new vendors, escalating service delivery and support issues), release management (product variations, new feature releases, rate sheet changes, product withdrawal)
Project Management
The Product Manager will be responsible for facilitating the implementation of technically complex solutions. This is intended to ensure a high quality transition from the pre-sales arena to the post sales deployment.
The Product Manager will be responsible for authoring the Statement of Works, and Project Plan as well as working with the Service Implementation team to chair internal and customer project review meetings.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong systems knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies including: data centre server, storage and network solutions. My client’s hardware portfolio include products from Cisco, HP, Dell, IBM and Nexsan and software solutions from VMWare, Datacore, Asigra, Citrix and Microsoft. They also resell network services from providers such as BT, C&W, COLT, Telstra and Global Crossing.
The candidates background should include at least 5 years as a technical consultant with hands on engineering experience. Ideally the candidate will have some technical project management and at least 3 years in a presales role.
The candidates previous work experience should include working for IT managed service companies such as Computacentre, BT Engage, Comstor, SCC, Azlan, Morse, Logicalis & Dimension Data
The salary for this role is £50,000 - £55,000
