Job summary:
The Product Marketing Manager will have ownership of both the technical product portfolio and provide input to the CEO to set related product sales targets. Providing input into the product life cycle, from early specification and liaison with development, to product realisation, through the beta, launch and growth and end of life of the product.
This will include collecting feedback from sales and channel, evaluating and projecting marketing potential, positioning against the competition and highlighting the need for promotions and programmes to stimulate the market at key points in the product life cycle.
The Product Marketing Manager will be proactive in collecting market information and responsible for collation and interpretation into technical requirements input to development from customers, the channel and the field sales force.
Working with the marketing team they will collate and interpret for the field sales force and channel the product features, benefits and capabilities, competitive positioning, realistic roadmap expectations and pricing and provide the information to marketing to build sales tools for the products.
The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the co-ordination and liaison with all departments to create a whole product that can be sold to a defined and agreed market area and supported throughout its lifecycle. This success will be gauged by successfully meeting profit expectation and deployment numbers as set in the annual Business Plan.
The PMM is responsible for providing input on pricing and commercial aspects to achieve products success.
Responsibilities:
- Competitive and market reports and recommendations – monitoring of market needs and requirements, taking into account future technology developments, competitor products, pricing and services.
- Product business plans – collect and collate information to assist in the justification for the development of a new product, end of life of a product or introduction of a significant new product feature this will consider the impact for all departments - financial, development, operations, customer services, sales and marketing as well as the performance impact on the company and the impact across product ranges.
- Product requirement specification - work with channel, sales, support, operations and development to gather input for product requirements.
- Coordinate product launch to ensure that documentation, testing, training etc have been scheduled and considered in a timely manner.
- Work with marketing communications to define and provide technical input into the creation of PR, collateral, presentations, packages, programmes and solutions that bring together products to provide innovative customer solutions suitable for sale through the channel.
- Identification of new channel requirements to ensure product sales targets can be met.
- Provide input into the planning and organisation and participate in product releases, product road shows, customer days, product update meetings - both internal, channel and external to customers via the sales team and channel partners.
- Feature and benefit input into technology roadmaps for the product portfolio.
- Provide input into pricing of the product portfolio.
- Produce competitor information showing the company’s USP to present to sales and channel partners and include in sales material.
- Liaise with and develop strategic relationships with third party product partners, interconnect partners and suppliers where appropriate working in closely with 3rd party product management within operations.
- Involvement in the deployment of beta test solutions on the hosted platform and introduction of new services into the market
- Measurement, analysis and reporting of performance to agreed targets.
- Additional tasks maybe set on an ad hoc basis dependent on business needs.

Salary: up to £35,000 depending on skills
