Our client is a market leading, global company that is looking to recruit a Technical Applications Manager to take primary responsibility for enterprise applications across their multiple sites.

 

This is both a technical and business orientated role and candidates would be expected to have an understanding of the commercial implications of the projects they are involved in. As a technical role candidates must have the ability to design, develop, configure and support enterprise level applications.

 

Successful candidates will need strong experience in Manufacturing, Distribution, Order Management and Finance as this makes up the main functional areas of the position. There is also ongoing demand for projects covering R&D, Quality, Engineering, MRP and Sales & Inventory Planning (SIOP), previous experience in the IT systems relating to these areas would be highly desirable.

 

The ability to deliver a range of complex projects, across multiple countries is a must. The candidate must have a methodical approach with excellent attention to detail. The ability to work effectively, while under pressure, on a number of major projects (in parallel) is mandatory.

 

Applicants do not need to have industry specific experience.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

Primary duties will include:

  • Identification of stakeholder’s information systems requirements.
  • Investigation, prioritization and documentation of the existing business processes and re-engineer these, in line with changes in corporate policy, to make improved use of available technology.
  • Leading and managing the organizations Web, E-Commerce and E-Procurement solutions.
  • Evaluation and proposal of potential IT solutions
  • Negotiation with solution providers to ensure the best products and services are delivered
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure that cross-functional requirements are compatible with the overall business needs and that they can be integrated.
  • Ensure that requirements specifications include relevant control mechanisms necessary to conform to good audit and legislative requirements.
  • Assess technical requirements and liaise with IT Infrastructure on the approach and resources necessary to fulfill the requirements.
  • Ensuring necessary resources are allocated and budgets, timescales, the highest quality standards and stakeholder expectations are met.
  • Leading application license management.
  • Consulting on IT Infrastructure performance management for major applications.
  • Maintenance of technical knowledge and experience through self education, training and other suitable methods
  • Ensuring that business risk is minimized and user impact is kept to a minimum during projects.
  • Managing change control within projects.
  • Ensuring appropriate product-related training and documentation are developed and made available to customers.
  • Participate in the company’s quality improvement programme (PPI) as required.
  • Development of information systems testing strategies, plans, or scenarios.
  • Development / implementation of information systems security plans and procedures.
  • Participation in Corporate Programmes as required.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:    

      

Essential:

 

Excellent IT skills including:

  • Proven IT project management experience
  • In-depth ERP experience (implementation, integration, configuration, enhancement and support)
  • System integration and data mining experience
  • Database development and support
  • Understanding of technologies including VB.NET, XML, SQL (Server & Language), web services etc
  • Excellent communication skills are required (inc. board level)

Desirable:

  • A good IT-related degree
  • Experience of Syspro or Oracle ERP and related technology
  • Bar-coding and labeling
  • International Experience
  • ITIL Exposure
  • Experience of FDA and ISO13485 standards throughout the development / project lifecycle.
  • A background in Return on Investment (ROI) modeling within IT projects.
