The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2019 – A ride for Men’s mental health and prostate cancer awareness

This year, our Director, recruitment mentor, Dad joke extraordinaire and all-round bloody nice chap (also the guy that hits “send” on our wage payments if you’re wondering why we’re laying it on thick…) once again gets ready to hop on his Hog for a good cause.

As a frequent rider in the Annual Reading Toy run https://twitter.com/readingtoyrun?lang=en  which last year celebrated its 26th Annual ride hosting roughly 1528 tinsel covered ‘Santas’ riding their rumbling reindeer through the streets of Reading to deliver toys to the Barnardos High School in Wokingham, Ben “Bavvers” Baverstock is no stranger for suiting up for a good cause.

…The white beard and antlers will have to sit this one out. Sorry, B.B!

Founded in 2012, The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) has gone from strength to strength. It grew from a moment of inspiration sparked by a snapshot of TV’s made up “Mad Men” character Don Draper riding a classic bike in his finest suit and since then, Aussie founder Mark Hawwa and charitable chums have nurtured and grown the initiative into a very real Global charitable force for tackling men’s issues.

Every year the good word of DGR’s work spreads a little further. Last year alone, DGR, partnered with the Movember Foundation, raised a whopping $6.2M by a do-good-gang of 114,000 riders in 648 Cities around 102 Countries.

This year on the 29th of September, the group wants to smash their collective personal best, aiming high with a massive yet very achievable $7,000,000 total Global fundraising target.

With proceeds going to Global cancer research initiatives, mental health support, and sexual health education as well as supplies for men and boys around the World, we couldn’t be prouder here at Xact to support our lead-recruiter-on-an-expensive-scooter (P45 coming my way for that one…) on his mission to rev up some support for a good cause.

And what kind of recruiter’s communication would this be without the promise of a “fantastic opportunity” ?! Because you know what? Fantastically, you too can contribute to this amazing event by sponsoring our very own Red-Riding-for-good on his mission by following this opportunely placed link https://www.gentlemansride.com/fundraiser/BenBaverstock292570 and pledging what you can.

Better yet, on your bike, sons! You can find more info about The Distinguished Gentleman Ride and sign yourself up at https://www.gentlemansride.com/

It’s time to pull your fingers out chaps – unless you’re checking your prostate of course, though we highly recommend seeing a qualified professional for that…
