Role: Defect Manager 
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000
Location: Remote-first with occasional client visits (Manchester & Reading)

We’re on the lookout for a Defect Manager with the confidence to take charge of defect triage, reporting, and resolution in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be the driving force behind how defects are identified, tracked, prioritised, and resolved — working across stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams to keep delivery on track.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Owning defect management across all testing phases (ST, SIT, UAT, NFT)

• Leading defect triage with clarity and confidence

• Ensuring every defect is crystal clear, well-documented, and properly prioritised

• Acting as the single source of truth on defect status, impact, and resolution

• Building trusted relationships across clients, suppliers, and delivery teams

• Producing accurate, impactful reports that cut through the noise

• Helping to evolve and improve defect processes, tools, and frameworks

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of hands-on defect management experience in high-stakes programmes (preferably financial services)

• Expertise in tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps

• A cool, analytical mind with strong attention to detail

• Outstanding communication skills — written, verbal, and visual

• Comfort running cross-functional meetings and driving outcomes

• A mindset geared toward quality, ownership, and continuous improvement
